Morning Star Memorial, Boatstrand
Memorial to the ship ’Morning Star’. The Morning Star was wrecked off Boatstrand Pier on Thursday, 14th October 1914 on its voyage from Cardiff to Cork with a cargo of coal. Note the ship’s anchor, ship plate and chair made from the ship’s timbers. L to R Bill Flynn (Grand Nephew of Captain Christopher) and Austin Flynn (nephew of sole survivor Dinny Flynn).

The Metal Man, Tramore, photographed while it was being painted. Note the ’Cherry Picker’ in the foreground. The Metal Man is one of three pillars (Metal Man in the centre) erected to warn boats and ships coming into Tramore’s shallow waters, to keep out from the dangerous rocks.
