Seskinan, a parish, in the union of Dungarvan, barony of Decies-without-Drum, county of Waterford, and province of Munster, 5¾ miles (N.) from Dungarvan; containing 3210 inhabitants. It comprises 16,877 statute acres, of which the greater part consists of mountainous and boggy lands. At Ballynamult, on its western confines, is a small military barrack.

The living is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of Lismore; the rectory forms the corps of the prebend of Seskinan in the cathedral of Lismore, with which the vicarage is held. The tithe rent-charge is £251.9. The Roman Catholic parish is co-extensive with that of the Established Church, and contains two chapels.
