Constabulary (RIC) Firearms Practice
The annual firearms practice of the Dungarvan and district constabulary at the Cunnigar with some onlookers. According to Edward Keohan photographer ”A canvas is placed at a distance of 200 to 1000 yards, at which the men fire in turn, but the beauty of the competition is, no one can tell when the object is hit, as there is no arrangement for that purpose.” The men wearing the flat hats are trainee constables. In the background is Abbeyside and the Comeragh Mountains.
