Number 24 Church Street, Dungarvan - A Short History
24 Church Street is Dungarvan’s oldest residence still in occupation today. It was also the place where General Michael Jones died. General Jones was one time commander of Parliament’s forces in Ireland during the English Civil War Stop 6 on The Dungarvan Heritage Trail. Dungarvan Town Park - A Short History
Overlooking Dungarvan Bay is the Town Park laid out in 1894. The park has a lovely Victorian Bandstand and affords some of the nicest views of Dungarvan Harbour. Memorials to Irish revolutionary Edmund Power and a volunteer lifeboat crew that saved seven crewmen from the ship Moresby on Christmas Eve 1895 are close by. Stop 4 on The Dungarvan Heritage Trail. A church has existed at the location of St. Mary’s Church of Ireland almost since the foundation of Dungarvan town, Co. Waterford, Ireland. The remains of the old Pre-Reformation Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin, records of which date back to the 1300s, can still be seen in the grounds of the present church. Using An iPad To Make Museum Visits More Interesting
Now Waterford County Museum visitors can handle the arrow or hold the musket, then they can see how it was forged or fired. This is a short film showing how the museum staff are going to use an ipad to place objects in context for school groups and other visitors. Access to Waterford County Museum is always free of charge and we welcome groups of all types particularly school groups. Thanks to the Heritage Council for funding this community project.

Brewing And Baking Exhibition, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford
Open from the 13th April 2011, this exhibition run for the Waterford Festival Of Food documents the work of bakers, brewers and cider makers in Dungarvan and West Waterford. Admission is free and all are welcome. Waterford County Museum is located on St Augustine Street, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

New Conservation Lighting And Cases At Waterford County Museum, Dungarvan
The museum has recently (September 2010) installed conservation standard lighting and taken delivery of 5 new portable temporary exhibition cases. The total cost of the improvements was in the region of €8500. Waterford Leader Partnership gave us 3/4 of that in grant aid. The rest we raised ourselves.
