Alcock - Currey

Chearnley, Anthony (fl. 1740-1785)
Artist, he was one of the first to build up a collection of Irish views. He is included in Strickland's Dictionary of Irish Artists.

Boyle, Robert (1627-1691)
He is most celebrated for experiments relating to air, in particular 'Boyle's Law', which states that the volume of air at a constant temperature, varies inversely to the pressure applied to it.

Currey, Frances (1848-1917)
Frances Currey specialised in landscape and flower painting. She was a founder member of the Irish Amateur Drawing Society and exhibited with them up until 1902.

Barker, Francis (1773-1859)
Editor, Publisher and Professor Of Chemistry.

Alcock, Rev. James (1805-1893)
A Church of Ireland minister in Ring, he was for 60 years the faithful and zealous vicar of the parish for the above period. During the scourge of the Famine and Cholera he proved himself the generous friend, the wise guide and councillor of the sick, distressed and afflicted of all classes and creeds.

Blake, Mary Elizabeth (1840-1907)
She contributed work to the Boston Gazette and other Boston dailies.

Cavanagh, Michael (1822-1900)
Young Irelander, Fenian, United States Army Veteran & Poet

Cleary, James Vincent (1829-1898)
Professor of Dogmatic Theology and Biblical Exposition in St. John's College Waterford.

Brenan, Richard E. (1846-1917)
An enthusiastic photographer and publisher, Brennan also founded the first cycling club in Ireland.

Cheasty, Tom (b.1934)
Cheasty was on the Waterford Hurling teams that won Munster finals in 1957, 1959 and 1963.

Byrne, Mike
Byrne was a member of Dungarvan Urban District Council between 1908 and 1918. He was also on the Board of Guardians at the Work house between 1913 and 1917.

Cooke, George Henry
Cooke served as Assistant Collector and Magistrate, Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate in Madras and was for some years Collector at the Civil and Military Station at Bangalore.
