The little group, Deuglán Fáilte has had its eighth birthday. It meets in the small room at the front of the local hall every Monday evening. The Burke sisters are its guardian angels and oversee and implement all the arrangements including the provision of tea and cakes. The company is usually of about 13-14 at the most and even though it wasn't originally intended that way, practically all are senior citizens who spend a very pleasant few hours there each week, with Diarmuid Cotter from Dungarvan on the violin and giving an occasional song as does Maureen Reidy, Ardo; then there's her brother Èamon Móinbhial from Cork with a huge repertoire of both English and Irish songs. John Kennedy of Lisarow a consummate actor reads selected pieces and he has a most amazing collection of tapes and music rivalling that of the late well-known Mr. T. O'Brien of Clonmel.

St. Declans Community Association meets on Tuesday evenings. See account of Ardmore Enterprise Co-Op.
