Morning Star Memorial, Boatstrand

Memorial to the ship 'Morning Star'. The Morning Star was wrecked off Boatstrand Pier on Thursday, 14th October 1914 on its voyage from Cardiff to Cork with a cargo of coal. Note the ship's anchor, ship plate and chair made from the ship's timbers. L to R Bill Flynn (Grand Nephew of Captain Christopher) and Austin Flynn (nephew of sole survivor Dinny Flynn).
