Edward John Murphy, Royal Munster Fusiliers

Edward John Murphy, (b. 6/9/1892), centre of image, with group of Royal Engineers at annual training camp at an unidentified location (possibly Jersey), posing by a Bell tent. The unit is recognisable by their cap badges and the knots on the cuffs of their tunics. Edward John Murphy was born in Jersey of Waterford descent. Joined the Royal Munster Fusiliers and served as a machine gun instructor. Fought in WWI and was killed in action 21st March 1918, aged 25 years, in France / Belgium.
