Carvings On the Gable Of Ardmore Catheral
Carvings on the gable end of Ardmore Cathedral. Justina Brenan can be seen on the bottom right of the photograph. The carving to the bottom left is The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil with The Harmony of the Testaments on the right. The upper part of the Harmony of the Testaments is The Judgment of Solomon and the lower part is The Ardmore Epiphany. The carving below the window is The Ardmore Madonna and Child.

Ardmore Cathedral & Round Tower
An unidentified man and three children photographed with Ardmore Cathedral & Round Tower in the background. The young girl second from the right wearing a Dungarvan Cycling Club hat is Justina Brenan. The Cathedral to the left of the photograph was originally built as a small church in the 9th or 10th century, with a second phase c.12th century and the final phase in 1203. The tower was built c.12th century.

Saint Declan’s Oratory, Ardmore
Justina Brenan, wearing a Dungarvan Cycling Club hat, sitting on the side of Saint Declan’s Oratory, Ardmore. The Oratory once contained, according to tradition, the tomb of Saint Declan. In 1716 Dr. Thomas Mill’s, Church of Ireland Bishop of Waterford and Lismore restored the oratory and added a slate roof.

The 1st. Nellie Fleming & The Jonadab
The 1st. Nellie Fleming (right), a three masted ship at half sail at an unknown location. The Nellie Fleming was built as the ’Grechland West’ and brought to Youghal by M. J. Flemming. She was sailed by Captain David Donovan for some time. The ship went ashore in Ardmore and became a total wreck. The Jonadab, a two masted Ketch at full sail at an unknown location. Built in Gloucester and traded with Youghal and its river up to the middle of the 1920’s. Its end is unknown.
