The European Boxing Team In Washington D.C.
The ten members of the European Amateur Boxing Team. They represented eight European countries and they flew to the U. S. to take part in matches with the U.S. amateur boxing champions. Sponsored by the International Amateur Boxing Association, the team participated in boxing matches in Chicago, Illinois amd Washington D.C. This photograph, taken at the Uline (Washington) Arena, Washington D.C. shows members of the European team during the ceremonies that preceded the boxing matches. Each member of the visiting team was introduced to the audience and the national anthem of his country was played.
